Often AWP is hired to re-design businesses existing websites to be more user-friendly, more functional and more beautiful. In the case of the recent launch of www.jonreis.com, we have accomplished it all!

Jon Reis wanted his photography front-and-center on his new website so we made room for a large (randomly selected) photo on the home page. We also made sure his portfolio page is always only one click away from every page on the site.

Building the custom Flash photo gallery was the highlight of this project. Jon felt his old website limited his options for showing examples of his photography so we built the Flash gallery to allow him to display as many photos as he likes. The gallery also features an automatic slideshow mode, and a “contact sheet” mode that allows for quick access to thumbnail images.

Jon wanted the control to easily update his Flash portfolio so that his clients can view his most current work. We designed a custom system based on XML technology that gives his staff the ability to update any of the photo galleries instantly right from their studio.

Jon organized his photography collection into several themed galleries so that the website would be easy to navigate. Jon then authored his content to use targted keywords that relate to the services he provides to ensure the new website is search engine friendly. Jon aims to increase his website ranking for many popular local search terms.

As a result of our work together, Jon’s website currently ranks #1 on Google.com on a search for “photographer ithaca“, “ithaca studio photography“, “photography ithaca“, and “ithaca photographer“.
